A family business, building since 2001

Wallaby Homes is run by Winston Farzan, a licensed general contractor in both the US and Australia, building for 24+ years and serving Nashville since 2018. We build the decks, the homes, and the pools, so your outdoor living is planned as one space, not bolted on.

Winston and his family live and build in the same Middle Tennessee neighborhoods we serve. We take a select number of projects each year so every deck is done right, on design, on budget, on time. When you call, you talk to the owner.

How much does a deck cost in Nashville?

Composite/Trex vs. wood, which should I choose?
Composite costs more up front but needs almost no maintenance and lasts decades without rot, splinters, or annual staining. Pressure-treated wood is cheaper but needs regular sealing. For most Nashville backyards we recommend composite, and we set the framing true so it reads clean and flat.
How long does it take to build a deck?
After design and permitting, most decks build in one to three weeks depending on size and complexity. We keep a clean, on-schedule site.
Do I need a permit for my deck?
Almost always, most decks across Middle Tennessee require a permit, and attached decks need proper engineering and ledger detailing. We pull permits and handle inspections across Davidson, Williamson, Wilson, and Sumner counties, including satellite cities with their own codes like Forest Hills, Belle Meade, and Oak Hill, so you don't have to.
Can you build on a sloped or tight lot?
Yes, elevated and multi-level decks on sloped or tight lots are a specialty, the same expertise we use building homes and pools on difficult sites.
Can you build the deck and the pool together?

Do you warranty your work?
Yes, a 1-year workmanship warranty on our build, on top of the manufacturer warranties that come with the materials (Trex's limited warranty, for example, runs decades). We also stand behind the ledger flashing and structural detailing that keep a deck safe for the long haul.
